Our existing hand rolled solution was poorly understood (the original developer long departed), poorly documented, lacking in unit tests, had slow indexing performance and was missing some pretty key features. Never the less, for all it&rsquo;s flaws, it worked! Chugging along through location queries without much fuss for many years.</p>
